At Phoenix Rising FC Youth Soccer, we take immense pride in highlighting the players and coaches who embody our club’s mission and values. Players like Hailey Cobb and Derek Moran are shining examples of the commitment, perseverance, and growth that our programs are designed to foster — proof that our pathways are helping young athletes become the best versions of themselves both on and off the field. At the heart of this development is Rob Dinnie, who plays a critical role in shaping our curriculum and ensuring every player, regardless of their starting point, is given the tools and environment needed to succeed. Together, they represent the strength of the Phoenix Rising FC community and the bright future that lies ahead.

Hailey Cobb
Hailey Cobb’s (2008 ECNL) journey through Phoenix Rising FC Youth Soccer is a shining example of what long-term development and commitment can lead to. Having started in our recreational program as a young player, Hailey has grown through every level within the club, ultimately earning her place on our ECNL 2008 team — one of the highest tiers of youth soccer in the country.
Her story is one of loyalty, perseverance, and continuous growth. Hailey has spent her entire soccer career with Blackhawks/Phoenix Rising, never playing for another club. Over the years, she has developed into a standout player within the Elite Clubs National League, facing some of the top competition in the nation.
Next fall, Hailey will take the next step in her journey, as she has officially committed to the University of Utah to continue both her athletic and academic pursuits at the NCAA Division I level, beginning in the fall of 2026.
Hailey’s path is a testament to what is possible within the Phoenix Rising development system — from grassroots to elite competition to collegiate soccer. We are incredibly proud of Hailey and look forward to watching her continue to succeed on and off the field.

Derek Moran
Derek Moran’s (2006/07 EA) journey through Phoenix Rising FC Youth Soccer is another great example long-term player development and the strength of our club pathway. From his first steps in the Scottsdale Blackhawks recreational program to his recent commitment to play collegiate soccer at Scottsdale Community College, Derek’s story is one of dedication, growth, and perseverance.
Derek began his soccer career with a single season in our recreational program before making the jump to competitive play in the fall of 2015. His first competitive experience wasn’t with a top-tier team, but that didn’t stop him. His trajectory is a prime example of our club’s commitment to development over time, not just placement. With patience and hard work, he progressed through the ranks—eventually making the jump to Elite Academy—never wearing another crest but ours.
Now preparing to play at the collegiate level, Derek stands as a testament to what it means to grow up in the Rising system. He is one of many players who have spent their entire soccer journeys with us, and a clear reflection of the environment we strive to create: one where every player, regardless of their starting point, has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Rob Dinnie
When it comes to building a strong foundation for our players and teams at Phoenix Rising FC Youth Soccer, few individuals play a more pivotal role than Rob Dinnie. As a key member of our leadership team, Rob is instrumental in shaping the curriculum that guides our coaches and supports the development of every player across the club.
With a sharp eye for detail and a deep understanding of the game, Rob works behind the scenes to ensure that our training methodology is aligned from the youngest age groups all the way through our most competitive teams. His curriculum development isn’t just about creating sessions — it’s about building a culture. One that promotes growth, encourages leadership, and develops players not just for soccer, but for life.
Rob’s passion for youth development shines through in everything he does. From mentoring coaches and setting the standard for what player development should look like, to constantly refining our club’s approach to training, Rob’s influence can be seen on fields across every region of the club.
His commitment to long-term development, both on and off the pitch, makes him a cornerstone of what we believe in at Phoenix Rising — that success is measured not just by wins and losses, but by the growth of our players as athletes and people.
We’re proud to recognize Rob Dinnie as our Coach Spotlight for the month of May. His leadership, vision, and dedication continue to raise the standard for what it means to be a part of Phoenix Rising FC Youth Soccer.
