We’re thrilled to introduce the third installment of our alumni newsletter, connecting Phoenix Rising FC Youth Soccer and Blackhawks Soccer alumni! This platform is dedicated to reuniting former teammates, sharing recent accomplishments, and keeping you informed about our teams’ latest developments and triumphs.
In this edition, our Alumni Spotlight series continues, highlighting the impressive achievements of exceptional individuals who have emerged from our program, both players and coaches: Brooke Fabri, Josh Martinez, Millie Greer, Ross Alexander and Simon Turner
Brooke Fabri (Class of 2024)
Brooke Fabri graduated from Pinnacle High School in May of this year, and committed to continuing her education and soccer career at the University of South Florida. As a Freshman, she has played in 17 games so far this season, assisting once, and helping her team outscore opponents 31-10.
Josh Martinez (Class of 2022)
Josh is in his Junior year at the University of San Diego, after having graduated from Hamilton High School. In his third year at USD, he has made a total of 14 appearances for the Toreros. In the 14 games he has played, he has helped outscore opponents 31-11, evening assisting three times in one game.
Millie Greer (Class of 2023)
Millie is in her second year at the University of Iowa, building off of a successful Freshman year where she was named Iowa defensive player of the year. In her Freshman year, she was part of the team that let in a record 13 goals during the season, which was ranked fifth nationally.
This year, she began the season as the Big Ten player to watch ,and has appeared in all 18 games for the Hawkeyes, starting in every one. She has one goal and one assist so far this year.
Ross Alexander
Ross Alexander, a previous Phoenix Rising FC coach, serving as the Director of ECNL Boys & head coach of MLS Next Professional Academy programs has been seeing success since joining Arizona State University’s women’s soccer team in 2022. Since joining the collegiate side, they have made consecutive appearances in the NCAA National Championship.
Simon Turner (Class of 2023)
Simon, a graduate of Chandler High School is now in his second year at John Hopkins University. He has played in most games for the school this year, helping his team win three games, making a total of 25 saves in the season so far. He is averaging .97 GAA, he and his powerhouse Johns Hopkins teammates find themselves top of the Centennial Conference with a 10-3-3 record with one match to go!
