With the launch of our new alumni newsletter this month, exclusively for all alumni who have participated with Phoenix Rising FC Youth Soccer and Blackhawks Soccer! This is your space and being created to reconnect with former teammates, share your latest achievements, and stay updated on the teams’ latest news and successes. This month and going forward we are highlighting several alumni that come through our program to give an update on where they are and what they have achieved.
In this month’s edition, we are highlighting Jack Chapman, Madison Hall, Maggie Cagle, Michael Huss, Riley Lynch and Tyler Dial.
Jack Chapman (Class of 2022)
Jack Chapman, a graduate of Pinnacle High School, and Phoenix Rising USL’s Captain during his time at the club, joined Sonoma State for the 2022-2023 season. As a Sophomore in the 2023-2034 season, Jack made 11 appearances for Sonoma state, making a total of 26 saves throughout the season. This year, as a Junior, Jack has made a total of 10 saves in the teams first two games, playing 90 minutes in both.
Madison Hall (Class of 2022)
Madison Hall, a graduate of Hamilton High School signed for Concordia University, and has been playing for the school since 2022. During her first year, she played in a total of 20 games, scoring one goal, as well as earning Academic All-PacWest.
During her second year at the school, she was a part of the team that was nationally ranked and set the program record for longest scoreless streak, which consisted of a total of 11 games. During this year, Concordia was ranked as No.5 in the country, and played and defeated No.1 ranked Western Washington and No.1 Hawai’i Hilo. Again, earning Academic All-PacWest
Maggie Cagle (Class of 2022)
Maggie Cagle graduated in 2022 from Arcadia High School, going on to play for the University of Virginia. As a freshman, she was named to the All-ACC Third Team and the All-Freshman selection, playing in all 23 games and starting 16 of them. As a freshman, she led all NCAA D1 freshmen with 12 assists and 7 game-winning assists. To conclude her accolades as a fresman, she was also named to the ACC Honor Roll
In her Sophomore year, she was named to the All-ACC second team selection, being ranked as the No.25 player overall nationally by Top Drawer Soccer, having three game winning goals throughout the season. Again, being named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll
In the current 2024-2025 season, Maggie has played in all 7 games so far, scoring on 5 occasions. UVA plays next on Sunday, against Wake Forest
Michael Huss (Class of 2020)
Michael Huss graduated in 2020 form Northwest Christian School. In his freshman Spring season, he made the 2021 Spring All-Freshman Team, scoring eight goals, playing in all 12 games. In the Fall 2021 season, Michael played in 16 games, scoring four goals, including one game-winning goal. He was named to the ASUN Honor Roll at the end of the season.
In his Junior year, he started in all 18 games, being named to the OVC All-Conference second team. He scored a total of 5 goals and had 4 assists. His performances throughout the season were rewarded, receiving the OVC Offensive player of the week during September of that season.
This season, he has played in 4 games, scoring on 2 occasions.
Riley Lynch
Riley Lynch, a Chandler, Arizona native, played for the Phoenix Rising FC Academy team in MLS NEXT before joining Saint Mary’s College, where he had a standout collegiate career. During his time at Saint Mary’s, Lynch earned All West Coast Conference Second Team and All Freshman Team honors, led the team in shots, and tallied a team-leading eight goals and five assists in his junior season. After being drafted by the San Jose Earthquakes in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft, Lynch joined The Town FC, where he has become a key player, scoring important goals and providing assists. His experience playing for Saint Mary’s and Phoenix Rising has prepared him for his professional career, recently scoring in the teams most recent match against Real Monarchs
Tyler Dial (Class of 2014)
Tyler Dial, a singer-songwriter, has a background in soccer. He played youth soccer for Phoenix Rising’s academy team and attended Brophy College Preparatory. Tyler’s athletic talent earned him college offers to play soccer, but he ultimately chose to pursue a career in music. His Arizona roots and soccer experience continue to influence his music and artistic style, shaping him into the artist he is today.
