We’re extremely proud to share that our Phoenix Rising FC 2011 ECNL defender Kallington D. has been called up to the U.S. U15 Youth National Team for the upcoming November camp in Georgia.
Kallington has been invited to multiple National Team ID Centers in the past, and through her consistency, work ethic, and love for the game, she has earned this full call-up. This is another strong example of what’s possible through our Rising pathway when talent and hard work line up with opportunity.
ECNL coach, Kelly Cagle, described Kallington best:
“Kallington plays the game beyond her years. She sees the game well, and plays with confidence especially in possession and dictating play from the back. Kallington has a true desire to compete and vies to win everything she does. Her communication to motivate and organize her team is another quality that sets her apart. Kal smiles while she plays, and I hope she never loses that smile regardless of where her amazing career may take her.”
Kallington’s ability to read the game, stay composed in possession, and lead from the back has helped set the tone for her ECNL side all season. Pair that with a competitive drive and a genuine joy for the sport, and it’s no surprise she’s earned recognition at the national level.
We’re excited for Kallington as she heads into camp and proud to see another Rising player continue forward on the national pathway.
Good luck, Kal!
