The Phoenix Rising FC community will once again come together this holiday season for a cause close to our hearts, the 2025 Holidash Fun Run in memory of Julian Delgadillo Castro, a beloved member of our Rising family whose spirit continues to inspire us all.
Julian was a Phoenix Rising FC West Valley 2013 Goalkeeper, known for his joy, energy, and passion for the game. His teammates and coaches remember him for the smile he brought to every training session, the determination he showed on the field, and the kindness he shared with everyone around him. In 2023, Julian’s life was tragically cut short, but his impact on those who knew him, and on our entire community, remains lasting and profound.
To honor his memory, the annual Fun Run proudly carries Julian’s name. The event celebrates everything he embodied: teamwork, perseverance, joy, and love for the game. Families and players from across the club gather for a day filled with games, food, and community spirit, a day that reminds us of what it truly means to be “Rising As One.”
Last year, with the support of Phoenix Rising FC and Carvana, Julian’s mother received a new car, a heartfelt gesture from the Rising family to help provide comfort and support during a time of unimaginable loss. It was a powerful moment that showed how deeply connected and compassionate this community truly is.
This year’s Holidash Fun Run continues that legacy, raising funds to support Phoenix Rising FC’s Foundation allow our youth to stay involved in the game that Julian loved.
As we lace up and take part in the 2025 Holidash, we run not only for fun but in remembrance of Julian, to celebrate his life, his light, and the love of the game.
